“Hey, Elsie, it’s Father’s Day! Maybe Dad will come out and play soccer with us.”
“Seriously, Chaser, you are just too naive. Dad doesn’t want to spend his special day kicking a soccer ball! Now, this Mickey Mouse ball, well, that might be a different story. . . .”
“I know! How about this tennis ball! He could throw it and I’d run after it and then he could throw it again and then I’d run after it again, and then he could throw it again and . . . . that sounds like fun, right?”
“Pssst, Chaser, let me tell you a secret. Dad doesn’t want to play with a tennis ball, either.”
“So, let me just relieve you of that ball. . . .you’re welcome.”
“See what you did now, Chaser? You had to go and whine on me for stealing your ball! Now all we get is a walk with Dad. Oh, well, I guess any time with Dad is good, right?”
Happy Father’s Day, everyone!!
