Hi Everyone! Happy Wellness Weekend! This month, I think I truly understand the meaning of the term, “time flies.”  I mean, seriously, where did February GO? And I’d swear that last week’s event ended barely three days ago (oh, wait. . . ). ;)

Well, I’ve got book news tonight! My publisher granted an extension, which means I’m able to keep writing for another few weeks. The bad news is, I’ve got to get my (ahem) derrière in gear, and hunker down (no, seriously).  So, I will likely be scarce on the blog for another month or so. I do have some interesting posts in mind for when I return. And. . . I’d love to know what you’d like to read when I get back! So please scroll down to keep reading to voice your opinion!

Here’s How to Participate: The event occurs once a week, starting Thursdays at 8:00 PM my time and running until the following Monday at midnight.

  • Simply link up a vegan recipe you made (and posted about) that contains health-supporting ingredients. This means any good-for-you whole foods, especially those with antioxidant properties or “functional foods” (ie, offering naturally medicinal or health-promoting qualities–such as garlic, coconut oil, all vegetables, fruits, herbs, etc.)–but any fresh, real food is welcome! No-no’s include white flour or sugar, highly processed foods, or animal products. Definite no-no’s include: cane sugar (evaporated or otherwise), sweeteners ending in -itol, margarines, or faux meat products. Items like vegan protein powder, grain or bean flours, or coconut milk are fine even though they are technically “processed,” since they either contain a single ingredient, or could technically be made at home. Also, please note that this is a vegan recipe event. A minor ingredient with a vegan option is fine, but if the main ingredient is intended to be meat or other animal product, your recipe likely belongs in a different link up event.
  • This is a recipe event. Your blog post must contain a recipe.
  • You may link up older posts from your archives as long as they contain a link to this post. Please do not link up any posts you have previously shared at an earlier Wellness Weekend event.
  • Please link the post with your recipe, NOT your blog’s home page or another event page.
  • You may submit up to three recipes, but please follow the guidelines for each one individually. ONLY ONE THUMBNAIL FROM EACH BLOG POST, PLEASE. If your post contains two suitable recipes, link up once and people will still see all your fabulous recipes when they click on the linky. :)
  • Please mention this event and include a link back to this post so that others can find all the recipes posted!

  4. I loved that strawberry mocha smoothie from last week too :) This week, I am linking in a buckwheat apple and zucchini muffin recipe that has been refined gradually over the last 2 (!) years.

    It will be great to you have you back to regular posts when the cookbook work is done, but then I feel like I’ve been benefiting from the cookbook work so have been fortunate in that regard ;)

Glad everyone enjoyed my chocolate fudge slice – was there some glitch with the linky photos last week – I am so used to browsing the pics that it was odd not to be able to see them (or was it just me). Can’t wait for your cookbook to come out so am glad you will get more time to make it into the cookbook you want.

    • I don’t know of a glitch, Johanna–maybe just something temporary? Or are the pics still missing?

      • I still can’t see images on last week’s Wellness Weekends – and I noticed this at at least one other blog who had a linky. I can see this week’s photos. (And I agree with Kari that I don’t feel I am missing out with cookbook testing – makes me long to try more of your recipes so new recipes and even recipe round ups on the blog are always welcome)

        • Well, I took a peek at last week’s event and I CAN’T SEE THEM EITHER!! Oh, nooooo! I will contact the Linky admin to see what happened.   6. Hey Ricki! These posts are my favorite by you!:) I’d love to see more really sugar-free recipes, even without fruit. I don’t tolerate any form, and it would be a nice welcome!:) Plus, all the baked goods with additives seem to upset my candida too, but more natural food is always a win! You’re such a great blogger, you don’t need suggestions from me, but since you asked, that’s my two cents!:) Love your advice and thank you for all your hard work!

  7. HI Ricki, I’ve been a fan of yours for several years! I’ve been following a Candida diet for one whole year now. I’m still on stage 1. I recently tried going to stage 2 and experienced a setback. I’m also healing naturally from cancer with lots of cleansing and detoxing. Since my life is so busy, I really appreciate recipes that are simple to make! And I always enjoy keeping up with Candida and cancer topics. Thanks for all you do and best wishes on your book!
