It’s Valentine’s Day! Hope those of you who are feeling the love support commercialized holidays grab any chance to eat chocolate are corny like me are celebrating today have a wonderful day with your loved ones! 😀
“Hey, Elsie, it looks like Mum is busy in the kitchen! Is this one of those holidays where Dad makes a turkey and then we get to eat all day?”
“Really, Chaser, do I have to teach you everything? This is the holiday when Mum makes a lot of chocolate-based desserts and tells Dad she loves him, or something. And chocolate means no food for us. “
“SIGH. Well, at least it means we’ll be getting some extra lovin’ today.”
I’m happy to know Elsie and Chaser will be getting extra loving today, because heaven knows they deserve it! Happy Valentine’s Day Ricki, HH, Elsie and Chaser. Love ya!
Thanks, Andrea! I have to agree–they deserve it. 🙂 xo
“This is the holiday when Mum makes a lot of chocolate-based desserts ” – well, then I suspect every day in the DDD household is a holiday!
Ha ha! Well, now that you mention it. . .!! 😉
Aw so precious! I always love the Elsie and Chaser photos. 🙂
Thanks, Ashley! I must admit that I do, too. 😀
awww so cute! That is exactly how my dog looks at me when I am working in the kitchen! He just sits and stares with his head resting on his legs, hoping the next thing I pick up will be for him 🙂 Happy Valentine’s Day!
Jane, I think you’ve nailed it. . . that is Chaser to a “tee.”! 🙂 Happy V-Day to you, too!
Haha! This is priceless! Nothing like a good doggy photo caption to get me laughing 🙂
Hee hee! It may be Valentine’s Day, but we can still use some giggles. 🙂
Oh my gosh. That commentary is HYSTERICAL!! Love, love it! Thanks for the smiles those precious babies and their fun chatter just gave me…
awww. happy day of love {and chocolate} to you & yours! xo
Thanks so much, Jess! The Girls thank you, too. 😀 (And hope yours is a good one as well!)
E and I went out on Valentines day – not through any support of the day but because it was a day that my mum could babysit – enjoyed it nevertheless but am wary of going out on such a night usually – hope you enjoyed the day and had an excuse to make lots of lovely food – though isn’t that every day 🙂 and that there was something for the girls
Glad you and E had an “adult” dinner out together! Yes, the Girls were lavished with love and treats during the day. Our dinner wasn’t elaborate but it was very good–will likely post about it, of course! 🙂
Extra loving is always good, and I agree with Cara’s comment! 😉
Shirley
Ha, ha! Yes, I suppose that chocolate does make regular appearances in my kitchen! 😉
Valentine’s Day, Rita’s birthday, our anniversary all in five days. Son coming in from California. Too much baking and no blogging time! Glad Valentine’s was all cozy and chocolaty at your house!
Wow, sounds like you have been BUSY! Hope it was a good-busy, anyway. And yes, we had a lovely time here with The Girls, thanks! 🙂
Aw, now those are two sweethearts if I ever did see them! Hope you had a lovely Valentine’s Day (pun intended). 😉
Thanks, Hannah! I agree–they are very sweet, all year round! 🙂
We love your blog! Thanks for all the great recipes and food love – it is very much appreciated.
Any chance you could give me some advice on how to get the “Pin It” button like yours onto my site? I was messing around with it for about an hour today on WordPress and Pinterest, but I need to take a break from technology. It makes my head spin. Recipes, however, like your Marry Me Brownies, make my head happy. Thanks again!
Thanks so much, Kate! If you have a WordPress blog, there’s a section called “Plugins” on your dashboard. You an do a search for the Pin It button and it will show up. Then you just click on “install” and follow the directions. If you need more details feel free to email me directly! 🙂
