Several months ago (I’m embarrassed to tell you how many), I received a lovely package from the folks at Growing Naturals.

Growing Naturals create amazing raw, whole food, protein powders and rice milk powder that are gluten-free, dairy free, corn free, soy free, and vegan. They are organic and non-GMO, carefully sourced and tested before they’re packaged and sold.Β  I love their motto, too: “Natural Products for All People!” That’s because they offer a great source of protein to everyone, vegans and omnivores alike (24 grams per serving!).

The raw rice protein powder provides a full array of amino acids and contains 90% protein, so you will acquire a good boost to your daily protein in each serving. I found it to be very smooth (not gritty) and blended well in smoothies.

If you check out the Growing Naturals web page, you’ll also see that they also recently launched the very first raw, sprouted pea protein powder (which I used in my new favorite spread, the Mocha Sunbutter I shared a few days ago). Unlike grain-based protein powders, pea protein is high in lysine (an essential amino acid) and branched chain amino acids (BCAA) which all benefit tissue, bone and antibody development while simultaneously boosting energy. I really enjoyed the pea protein, too, although it does have a stronger flavor than the rice variety. I combined it with other flavors (such as the sunflower seed butter) for a smooth, tasty high-protein treat.

    This is an awesome giveaway, I have tried growing naturals rice protein once and it was truly delicious, one of the smoothest rice proteins I have ever had.
    Never had or seen the rice milk powder and am ultra curious now, need to look for this one to try.

  13. My favourite way to use protein powder would probably be in smoothies for creamy delights. I recently used it mixed with home made walnut butter for a higher protein spread though and it came out wonderfully! I mixed in some stevia and nutmeg for a spicy punch. I’ve wanted to try baking with it and putting it in pancakes subbing for some of the grain though.

  16. I LOVE dairy free “milk shakes”! In order to get that notorious milk shake creaminess without the actual milk, my two secret ingredients are protein powder and avocado. It sounds like an odd pair, but they create a heavenly texture! I’d love to experiment with Growing Naturals products in my shake adventures.

  36. I have been using whey protein powder in my morning breakfast cereal for several years. I needed my breakfast to be “instant” but don’t like the texture of regular oatmeal and the sugar in the instant oatmeal is appalling.
    I mix 2# organic rolled oats, 1# organic rolled barley flakes, and 1# organic rolled rye flakes.
    Chop dried organic apples and cranberries (cherries or blueberries if you can afford them) together.
    I am to looking find/make muslin bags or something not plastic but for now I use sandwich bags/twist ties and I put together a months worth of “Nancy’s instant oatmeal”.
    1/3 cup grain mix
    1/4 cup fruit mix
    1 tbsp protein powder
    1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
    1 tbsp chopped walnuts, pecans, almond slivers….
    you can also add roasted sesame seeds.
    I flavor with 1/2 cup strong chai and green tea that I make 4 cups at a time and refrigerate using 4 chai and 4 green teabags. Cook however you wish. Because of my texture “thing” mine comes out very thick. When I make if for others, I use more tea, cook longer and sometimes add milk of choice after cooking. You can add ground flax or chia seeds after cooking.

  38. My husband and I have started exercising at the YMCA. We finish off our workout with a smoothie with protein powder added to help our muscles post workout. This would be great!

  39. My favorite use for my current soy protein powder is in a fruit smoothie. Being GF, DF, Egg Free, Corn Free, Nightshade Free, and certain-nuts free makes for a challenging diet. I would like to use protein powder to increase the nutrition of my baked goods. My protein powder can’t take heat. According to Growing Naturals website their products are used in baked goods, so it would be nice to try them. Also, I noticed their ratio of fat-carb-fiber-protein is better than most.
