[Yep, that’s a coat of ice 1-1/2 inches (3.75 cm) thick, on everything. Gotta love winter in Ontario. . . ]
It’s been quiet here on the blog the past few days, what with a record-breaking ice storm hitting us hard in the Toronto area over the weekend, and the HH working through a nasty flu for the past few days.
I’ve spent most of my time serving ginger tea, chipping ice off my car and driveway, serving shots of Deep Immune, chipping ice off my car and driveway, trying to keep the Girls amused, serving soup, and chipping ice off my car and driveway.
Luckily, most of my Christmas dinner was planned and prepared in advance, so we will still eat well (recipes coming up next week). And with scenes like that one, above, outside our window, I’m happy to be cozy and warm inside, with lots of provisions, and spending time with the people and beings I love most.
In other words, we here in the RH household will be laying low this Christmas, taking it easy and hanging out in our jammies.
Here’s wishing all of you an equally relaxed, happy, healthy and loving holiday season!
With thanks and much love to you all–
xo Ricki (and the HH and The Girls)
“Mum, when you said we could hang out in our jammies, we thought you were speaking figuratively. But hey, we’ll do anything for a treat. Merry Christmas, everyone!”
Merry Christmas and fast healing to you and your crew!
Thank you, Chelsea! And hope your holiday is a good one, too! ๐
Happy holidays, Ricki! Stay warm and have a sweet one!
Thanks, Hannah! Wishing the same for you and yours. ๐ xo
Merry Christmas Ricki! I hope you feel better soon!!!:)
Thanks, Heather! So far I’m okay–it’s the HH who’s been sick (and it’s still lingering. . . gah!!). But we had a nice, low-key Christmas. Hope yours was a good one, too! ๐
The girls are so cute! They endure a lot, but they know they will be rewarded with tons of love (and some treats)! That type of weather is best enjoyed from the comfort of one’s home. Boo on ice chipping. ๐ Hope the HH is feeling much better with all your wise remedies!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Ricki! xo,
Shirley
Thanks, Shirley! Wish I could say I had something to do with the Girls’ cuteness–but they do it all on their own–ha ha! ๐ And yes, it was nice to be comfortable and warm over Christmas (I know many people in the Toronto area were not this year!). And couldn’t agree more–BOO on ice chipping!! ๐
So sorry you’ve been unwell in the lead up to Christmas! I hope you recovered for the day, and that you had a very lovely time.
Thanks so much, Kari! It was the HH who was under the weather, but he rallied for Christmas yesterday. . . back in bed today. ๐ I’ve been keeping warm and trying to do. . . nothing. Feels pretty good, actually. ๐ Hope yours was a lovely Christmas and that you enjoyed time with loved ones!
