It’s January–that makes it “detox season”! Okay, just kidding. (Okay, not really). ;-)

Yesterday, I wrote about my plan to revisit the ACD in just a couple of weeks. Today I’m asking: Are you with me? I’m looking for a few good men women canines people to share the journey on my brand spanking-new “Candida Kickstart” program! This is the support I wish I’d had when I first started the diet almost five years ago. Are you ready to start an ACD? Looking for support, information, recipes, guidance? Then join the program! I’ll share all the details in my next post, but for now, save these dates: Saturday, January 25 to Sunday, February 9, 2014. That will allow you to get your anti-candida diet off to a successful start and well on your way, ready to face all the ACD challenges (just in time for Valentine’s Day!).

And whether or not you’re gearing up for an anti-candida diet, taking some time to consume cleansing, detoxifying foods is a great way to prepare your body for the year to come, or else repair your body post-holidays. Even if you’ve been eating a clean diet, detoxing can still be a good thing. Why? Because there’s more to health than just the foods we eat (though the food, of course, is a crucial–and perhaps the most fun–component of a healthy life).

To help you along this detox season, here’s a list of  recipes made with real, whole-foods and good-for-you ingredients (plus many all of those six great detoxifiers I mentioned yesterday):

  10. Great group of recipes, but I hate to break it to you, here is no such thing as as detoxify the body. That is what your liver and kidneys are for. Just eat healthy for heath’s sake.

    • Amanda, I think you’d find lots of different views among healthcare professionals, both alternative and allopathic, on this one. Of course our kidneys and liver are there to detoxify. It’s my personal opinion that they can become extremely overburdened by this task given our current highly toxic North American lifestyle (and even though I eat a very “clean” diet, I still have to breathe the air, use the electronic devices, submit to the occasional X-ray, travel through airports, etc., all of which puts strain on the system). Certain foods can help your liver and kidneys to do their jobs more effectively, and cutting back on other foods can give them a break as well. That’s my definition of “detoxify.” :)
