Today I’m delighted to share a chat I had with Amie Valpone of The Healthy Apple. Amie has dealt with a plethora of health issues over the years, turning to more alternative methods after she’d exhausted her allopathic options without improving her condition.
Over the years, Amie was diagnosed with Lyme disease, polycystic ovarian syndrome, hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue, leaky gut, heavy metal toxicity and more. And throughout, she maintained a positive attitude and openness to new approaches. Here, she discusses various treatments she used to heal and how she maintains a productive and happy life while doing so.
Amie is a wealth of knowledge on detoxing and many other topics related to holistic healing. I was thrilled to have this talk as a resource, especially since I’ll be starting my own detox protocol next week! Have a listen–and then let us know what you think.
Do you detox yearly, monthly, or more regularly? Have you ever seen benefits from detoxing? And what does “detoxing” entail for you?
[Note: there was a small technical glitch about midway and my voice has a slight echo. Apologies! I’m still learning and will find out how to prevent that next time.]

Two of my favorite women together, so exciting to watch this and get even more great info. Thank you both
Aw, thanks so much, Brocka!! Glad you found it useful. 🙂
Awe; thank you!!!! xooxxx
I just wanted to tell both of you ladies thank you so much. This was so helpful to me. I’ve struggled with candida all my life, plus other gut issues mentioned in this video. I would love to see a part 2 about some of the best supplements and such; there’s so much out there, it’s hard to know what to use so you don’t waste your money. Great, great video. Thank you both so much!
Heather, I’m going to be doing more of my own related to these issues. I’m currently doing a 10-day liver/general detox and will report on that. But I also want to do something about biofilm disruptors, since those became popular after my book was published. And thanks so much for the kind comment! 🙂 xo
Thank you so much!! So happy to hear. xoxo
REALLY enjoyed this interview, Ricki. Quite a lot of new information for me. Thanks to you both, this is very informative!
Thank you Dreena!!
Thank you so much for having me as your guest Ricki! So grateful to have you in my life. Sending you healing big hugs from NYC! xoxo
And right back atcha, Amie! It was great to chat with you–thank you for sharing your wisdom with my readers (and me)!! 😀 xoxo
Wow, what a story! So wonderful of you to share Amie and great to learn from both of you!
Thanks, Alisa! I know–she’s one of the most positive people I’ve met, and yet been through so much. A real inspiration! 🙂
So nice to see you two together! You have both been such an inspiration to me. My health has been spiraling downward in the past year but I do not plan on giving up. Amie shared such great information (as usual). I know one day I will find out what is going on with me. It may be more than the toxic mold exposure. I seem to have a lot of symptoms of Lyme Disease too. Thank you both for all that you do!! Love you ladies! Xo
Oh, Andrea, so sorry to hear that! It’s a tough climb, and it takes persistence and diligence, but it can be done. Thank you for the kind words, and I really hope this helps in some way. xo
